The Process

Project type

Process

The process begins with a consultation where the designer collaborates with the client to understand their vision and requirements. This includes selecting the type of stone to mimic, determining the scale and scope of the project, and planning the overall design.
Artisans then build a sturdy framework to serve as the foundation for the artificial rock wall. This framework can be made of wood, metal, or other suitable materials. The artisan applies layers of concrete to the framework, carefully sculpting and texturing the surface to resemble natural stone. This step requires a keen eye for detail and a deep understanding of geological formations to create a realistic appearance. Once the sculpting is complete, the artisan applies custom coloring agents to achieve the desired look. This involves multiple layers of pigments and stains to replicate the natural variations and weathering of real stone. To ensure durability and longevity, a protective sealant is applied to the finished wall. This helps to preserve the colors and protect the surface from environmental damage.
